Stone floor, paving and pool surround cleaning and sealing
In short
We clean, restore and seal stone floors, paving and pool surrounds, indoors and out. We work with a wide range of natural stone and suitable manufactured stone, choosing the preparation and protection to suit the material, its condition and the finish you want. SiF's systems have been on the Australian market for eight years, after three years of testing, and we add results from our own New Zealand projects.
Can natural stone be sealed?
Yes, many natural stones can be sealed, provided the product suits the stone, its finish and where it's installed. Porosity, previous treatments, exposure and the appearance you want all influence the approach. We assess suitability first and show you photos of past projects before you choose a finish.
Planning a new stone installation?
Involve us early. We can talk through protection with your builder or installer before the stone is laid or grouted: the sealer, the faces being treated, and the adhesive and grout system, so the protection fits the installation.
Restore: clean and prepare
Stone floors and paving collect dirt, spills and cleaning residues. Outdoor areas also develop organic growth, mineral deposits and staining from surrounding materials. We clean the surface, using specialist treatments where needed, and assess any existing sealer before adding protection. A penetrating sealer can't go over a topical coating, so we tell you honestly whether that's a job for us. If staining is permanent, we tell you what can realistically be achieved.
Picture framing and uneven staining
Discoloured borders around individual stones, often called picture framing, can look lighter or darker than the stone around them. Moisture movement, mineral deposits, grout contamination and installation materials can all contribute, but similar-looking marks don't always have the same cause. We assess the stone, joints and installation. Some marks can be improved, and others may be permanent or come from moisture entering from beneath or around the stone.
Sealing reduces absorption through treated surfaces. It can't correct drainage or installation problems.
Protect: choose the finish and protection
A suitable penetrating sealer reduces absorption and makes ongoing cleaning easier. It buys you time to deal with spills before they set. Depending on the stone, we can keep its natural look or enhance its colour. We also choose water-repellent or combined water-and-oil-repellent protection to suit how you use the area, from an entranceway or commercial floor to outdoor dining and pool surrounds.
Our penetrating systems leave no surface film to peel or blister. Sealing doesn't make stone stain-proof, and prompt cleanup and routine care still matter.
Care around pools
Sealing doesn't have to mean a slippery surface coating. Our penetrating sealers protect within the stone, so the surface texture is as it was before. Cleaning first removes the organic growth and buildup that can make stone slippery. The stone's own finish still decides how it performs around wet areas.
Maintain
We give you practical cleaning advice suited to the stone and the protection applied. Outdoor paving and pool surrounds can be included in an Evercare Club plan. Cleaning is scheduled as needed, with any specialist treatment or sealer top-up quoted separately.

When we do this work
We agree timing around your project, access and how the area is used. Outdoor work is scheduled for suitable weather, and indoor work is coordinated to minimise disruption to occupants or business. Where the system and site allow, cleaning and sealing is generally done in one visit. We tell you how many visits to expect and when the area can be used again.
Arrange a stone cleaning and sealing assessment
Send us photos and anything you know about the stone or previous treatments. We'll give you a clear written scope and price, and arrange an on-site assessment where needed. Call 027 464 2888 or email info@evercareproperty.co.nz.
