No. Our equipment (sourced from Softwash Source NZ) is designed generally for high flow, low pressure cleaning, the safest, most effective method for exterior surfaces. We use only the pressure required for the material and job with operators continually monitor settings. Higher-pressure work (still typically under 3,000 psi) is only used for heavy-duty concrete restoration or other surfaces that can tolerate it.
Generally, no, not if it’s done correctly. In fact, regular washing often extends the life of your roof, paint, or cladding. Many manufacturers actually require soft washing or gentle cleaning as part of their recommended maintenance schedule to keep warranties valid.
We always check and follow the manufacturer’s care guidelines for each surface we work on. If your property is under a specific warranty, we’ll review it with you before starting and adapt our methods to stay compliant.
It’s worth noting that cladding and coated surfaces often need cleaning more frequently than owners realise. In Wanaka, our prevailing winds and development activity create airborne contaminants that settle on your exterior. If left, these can cause mineral staining and chalky residue, sometimes appearing right after an attempted clean. We’ve successfully removed many of these stains where infrequent or the wrong cleaning method allowed them to set in.

For residential exterior work, in most cases no, most of our exterior care is completed while owners are at work or for absentee holiday homes. We’ll ask for access notes if gates or access to locked areas are required. Prep is minimal: move delicate outdoor items, secure loose objects, and keep pets inside until the job is done.
For commercial work we will generally work around your busy times or complete the work outside work hours. This is all discussed ahead when scoping the job.We don’t work off an hourly rate, our pricing is based on the size, complexity, and desired level of finish for your property. We review all available information so we can provide a clear, fixed quote.
Your quote will outline exactly what’s included, our recommended protection treatments, and suggested maintenance intervals. For recurring maintenance plans pricing is simpler, better value, and gives you priority booking over one-off requests.
