What is a softwash and why do we use it?

We utilise soft washing because it delivers a deeper clean with a gentler approach, giving your properties exterior the care it deserves without the harsh impact of high-pressure water.

Soft washing uses a combination of water based, biodegradable solutions that break down cobwebs, dirt, grime, moss, and mould at the source, right down to the spores. Unlike pressure washing, which can damage surfaces and only removes the top layer of buildup, soft washing treats the root of the problem, keeping your property looking cleaner for longer.

It’s also the more efficient choice, using significantly less water than traditional water blasting methods. For a longer-lasting clean that’s safer on your home and better for the environment, soft washing is a clear winner.

Many modern building materials now come with warranties that require regular soft washing to remain valid, making it a smart choice for both protection and presentation. 

Exterior Window Cleaning

We use Pure Water with Water Fed Poles for Exterior Window Cleaning

Our professional equipment makes purified water which has a strong affinity for dirt and containments and leaves a streak free result on rinsing. The purification process removes the minerals in water which leave water streaks and spots.

We scrub windows with specialty brush heads using purified water through our carbon fiber telescopic poles (3 story reach from the ground). Dirt and grime is agitated and then rinsed off the window. As the water dries a clean streak free result is achieved.

Roof Washing or Treatments

How should I take care of my roof?

We provide both roof washing and roof treatments. Our preference being roof treatments.

Roof treatments are a proactive solution designed to protect your roof from common organic growth such as moss, algae, and lichen. By applying specialised treatment products with biocidal properties, we help prevent these contaminants from taking hold, preserving the health and appearance of your roof.

Roof treatments provide preventative care with long lasting results to help preserve your roofs integrity. They will help stop moss, algae and lichen before they cause damage. They provide ongoing protection, reducing the frequency of future cleaning and extending your roof’s lifespan.

Roof washing costs more and uses more water than a treatment. It is used for aesthetic reasons or to restore the roof. The photo here shows a roof wash in the heart of Wanaka which was selected to restore the roof and ongoing we will use preventative treatments. We use the soft washing method to wash which applies low pressure cleaning solutions and then a low to mid pressure rinse.

Surface Cleaning

High Pressure & Treatments

While we prioritise soft washing for many surfaces, there are times when high-pressure cleaning is both necessary and highly effective; especially when dealing with tough grime, stubborn stains, and deeply embedded dirt.

Also known as water blasting, pressure washing uses a high-pressure stream of water to remove dirt and contaminants from hard surfaces. It’s ideal for concrete driveways, footpaths, patios, outdoor tiles, and some building exteriors. When paired with a moss and mould treatment, it helps prevent organic regrowth, keeping surfaces cleaner for longer.

Our surface cleaners have rotating jets that evenly clean large, flat areas. This method ensures a consistent finish, making it perfect for driveways, paved areas, and patios—without the streaks or uneven marks often caused by single-nozzle pressure washers.

Not all materials can withstand high pressure making it important to select the right washing techniques. The before and after photo shown involved a pre treated, surface clean and then post treatment. We also applied a Moss & Mould treatment to prevent future growth.

Mineral Staining

Specialist Mineral Cleaning

Stubborn mineral staining is a common issue, especially on properties that haven't had regular exterior cleaning. We've restored staining on homes post-construction where mineral stains couldn’t be removed by general cleaning as well as staining left by a lack of regular maintenance. Dirt and dust are a common problem where new development continues to open up land and if not removed regulary the minerals can adhere to claddings and cause mineral stains to build up.

The photos highlight real examples of mineral staining and the results we've achieved. Every stain is different, so we take a careful, professional approach to determine the correct treatment method and solution strength for your specific surface.

It’s surprising what can be cleaned with the right technique. Hardened cement splatter—common after new driveways, paths, or building work—can often be removed safely. Before you consider painting over it or chiseling it off, get in touch to see if we can clean it away professionally.

Wood Rejuvenation

Wood Restoration Services

You won’t see us using high pressure water blasting on wooden decks, or any timber surfaces. High pressure can easily damage the wood’s grain, leaving long-term scars and reducing its lifespan.

Instead, we offer a gentle wood rejuvenation service. As shown in the photo, our method carefully cleans the surface, restoring its natural beauty without harming the timber. Once cleaned, the deck can be left as-is for a natural weathered look, or prepped for oiling or other protective treatments.

This process takes more time, but it’s the right way to treat wood. There is a short video on our social media page of this process. This process can be applied to most wooden surfaces, we have upcoming furniture and large qwila decking project photos to come.

Gutters

Gutter cleaning service

All packaged customers receive gutter cleaning at least once annually. Since we're on site regularly, we also keep a close eye on your guttering system throughout the year. When gutters are neglected, the risk of water ingress and property damage increases significantly.

We use a range of access methods and equipment, tailored to suit the type and condition of each property, ensuring gutters are cleared effectively and safely.

In addition to protecting residential homes, it's worth noting that many of our commercial building customers now require documented gutter cleaning as part of their insurance renewals, something we're happy to supply as part of the service.
